PHNOM PENH, July 24, 2024 — Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many, who also serves as the Minister of Public Works, warmly welcomed Wang Winpin, the newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Cambodia, earlier this morning. The meeting underscored a mutual commitment to deepen bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

During their discussions, Hun Many and Ambassador Wang reviewed the enduring friendship and collaboration between the two nations, which spans both government-to-government and people-to-people interactions. This relationship is described as a historically long and steadfast partnership through all phases of their shared history.

Hun Many expressed admiration for the collaborative achievements between Cambodia and China, particularly highlighting the progress in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) development projects. These initiatives have been facilitated through cooperation between the Ministry of Public Works and the National Public Administration of China, focusing on capacity building for civil servants. This includes organizing visits, seminars, and experience-sharing sessions.

The meeting also addressed the strategic importance of youth engagement in both countries, recognizing the pivotal role younger generations play in sustaining the dynamic Cambodia-China relationship. Both leaders are keen on enhancing youth exchanges to solidify what Hun Many referred to as a "comprehensive strategic partnership" and "iron-clad friendship."
